An authority has commented on Elon Musk’s recent call for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

The relationship between Musk and Trump has significantly soured over the past week.

The dispute appears to originate from Musk’s disapproval of Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’. This controversial legislation includes key measures such as exempting Social Security and overtime earnings from taxation.

Musk, the founder of SpaceX, labeled the bill as a ‘disgusting abomination’, prompting a quick response from Trump who claimed disappointment and suggested that Musk ‘knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here’.

Following this, Musk made allegations of a connection between Trump and the Epstein files, which the White House has dismissed, tweeting: “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Musk also expressed the need for a new political party in the US and called for Trump’s impeachment.

Impeachment involves the formal process of charging a government official with misconduct.

In a tweet, Musk appeared to agree with another Twitter user’s suggestion that Trump should be impeached, with vice president JD Vance taking over as President.

The tweet from the user read: “President vs Elon. Who wins? My money’s on Elon. Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him.”

Musk reshared the tweet, adding the word ‘yes’.

Michael J. Wynne, a partner at GWA Firm in Houston, Texas, responded by evaluating the legitimacy of such a claim, concluding that there are no grounds for impeachment.

He told UNILAD: “There are absolutely no constitutional grounds to file articles of impeachment against President Trump. Calling for them now is nothing but pompous and inflammatory, self-aggrandizing rhetoric.”

“A president can only be impeached for treason, bribery, and other high crimes and misdemeanors,” he stated.

“The other times there was at least a superficial case one might argue with a straight face. Not this time. This time it is complete nonsense.”

Concerning Musk’s departure from DOGE, Trump claimed that Musk was ‘wearing thin’ and asked him to resign.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump remarked: “I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!”

Musk countered, dismissing these claims as an ‘obvious lie’ and calling Trump’s remarks ‘so sad’.

In an ABC News interview, Trump was questioned about a possible reconciliatory conversation with Musk.

He responded: “You mean the man who has lost his mind?” and mentioned being ‘not particularly’ inclined to engage in dialogue. Later, he told CNN: “I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem.”
