Stranger Things creator discloses when Netflix fans will uncover the truth about key storyline in the series

The creators of Stranger Things have given hints about the resolution of one of the show’s key plot points.

The popular Netflix series has been captivating audiences for nearly a decade and has become one of the streaming platform’s most viewed offerings.

With its blend of horror, sci-fi mystery, and 1980s nostalgia, Stranger Things has found tremendous success, despite fans sometimes expressing frustration over the lengthy gaps between seasons.

Currently, fans are eagerly anticipating the much-awaited conclusion to the series, with the final season set to be released in three parts.

The first installment, Stranger Things 5: Volume 1, premiered on November 26. The second part will be released on Christmas Day, with the concluding episode arriving on New Year’s Eve.

As the series approaches its climax, the Duffer Brothers, the show’s creators, have shared insights into a significant aspect of the storyline.

This involves the ‘Upside Down,’ a perilous parallel dimension linked to our world, populated by terrifying creatures, and where numerous characters have vanished throughout the series.

With various storylines converging, Matt Duffer noted that Volume 2 will delve even deeper into these developments.

In an interview with Deadline, he remarked, “Especially as we get into Volume 2, we start to answer more and more why Will was kidnapped and how it ties in with Holly [Wheeler] and all of this.”

He further commented, “Everything sort of comes full circle.”

Ross Duffer, Matt’s co-creator, also indicated that audiences will start to understand the origins of places like the Upside Down ‘pretty early on’ in Volume 2.

He explained, “That really is a Volume 2 thing, where we really get into the Upside Down, and we explain what it is.

“Again, this is something that has been planned for 10 years now, and it just now, obviously is the time to reveal it.”

This is not the first time the brothers have hinted at the series’ conclusion, previously stating that ‘this isn’t Game of Thrones.’

With a series as beloved as Stranger Things, expectations for the finale are undoubtedly high.

Matt shared with the Hollywood Reporter, “I don’t want anyone to overthink. It’s fun actually when [the fans] have all these theories as to what’s going to happen. It’s fun to read them.

“The vast majority of them are wrong. Occasionally, someone gets something.”
