Fans of Stranger Things believe they have decoded the potential plot of the final season after examining the episode titles.
It’s been over two years since the fourth season of Stranger Things premiered on Netflix. Naturally, fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the fifth and concluding season.
On the official Stranger Things X account, a post was shared today (November 6), confirming that the series would return next year, although an exact release date remains unannounced.
However, fans did receive a list of episode titles. This has led viewers to analyze them closely, coming up with imaginative theories about their meanings and the storyline ahead.
The announcement stated: “In the fall of 1987, one last adventure begins. Stranger Things 5 coming 2025.”
The episode titles are listed below:
Upon reviewing the episode titles, fans expressed numerous thoughts and were particularly intrigued by the second episode, ‘The Vanishing of’, where Netflix has obscured the final part of the title.
Fans quickly took to social media, eager to uncover who or what might be disappearing. Many also shared their own speculations.
One fan commented: “I love the suspense of hiding the vanishing of who,” while another suggested: “The Vanishing of… Holly Wheeler… kinda silly they blurred it but whatever.”
Another fan expressed concern: “Tbh I’m very apprehensive about this holly vanishing plot. I really don’t like the idea of there being ANOTHER character to focus on in addition to the already huge cast and I honestly don’t care about what happens to her compared to everyone else.”
Holly Wheeler, the younger sister of Mike and Nancy Wheeler, is reportedly being portrayed by Nell Fisher for the final season.
The title also harks back to the series premiere, ‘The Vanishing of Will Byers’, but fans generally agree that this episode won’t involve Will going missing again.
Discussion also turned to the title of the final episode, with many describing it as ‘perfect’.
One fan noted: “Perfect title for the series finale episode!” while another added: “It feels like the perfect way to wrap up all the suspense and mystery that Stranger Things has built over the seasons.”
Another fan commented: “‘The Bridge’ and ‘The Rightside Up’, damn, that is interesting. And what an awesome choice for the last chapter’s title.”
“It seems the ‘inter-dimensional bridge’ analogy for the idea of the Upside Down possibly replacing the Hellscape and existing between the Right Side Up and Dimension X will be used in the show after all.”
