“Swing At The End Of The World” Lets You Soar 2,600 Metres Over A Giant Abyss

This swing certainly doesn’t belong in the playground.

“The Swing at the End of the World” is at the at La Casa del Árbol in Baños, Ecuador. Once you’ve hiked up 2,660 metres, you can celebrate by going for a, erm, relaxing swing.

Daredevils and brave souls who choose to ride the swing are given a breathtaking view of the landscape and Tungurahua volcano.

And in case you’re worried about safety — the swing is comprised a plank of wood hanging by two ropes attached to a metal rod high above. Totally safe. We hope.

Would you?

Of you can always just remain stationary and pose for a photo.

Or just admire the swing from a safe distance.

Show off.

“Look darling, a crazy tourist.”

Just as well we can’t see the terrified — erm, we mean delighted — faces of the swingers.

Apparently, the swing doesn’t hang over a sheer cliff — there are trees below and a steep hill — so it’s not as bad as the photos show.

Even so, it still looks terrifying.

That’s right. Feet firmly on the ground.
