Taylor Momsen has found herself feeling a bit ‘Grinchy’ after being bitten on the leg by a venomous spider while touring with AC/DC.
The singer and former child actor — best known for playing Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas — said the bite happened during the Mexico leg of the tour.
Momsen, 32, who leads The Pretty Reckless, shared a series of Instagram updates showing a large red, swollen area stretching from her ankle up toward her knee, which appeared to worsen over time.
Alongside a video, she wrote: “So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit…this time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system so had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night…add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl?”

But the initial treatment didn’t seem to do the job, and only hours later she ended up returning to the emergency room as the effects of the venom continued to spread.
Updating fans on Tuesday, she wrote: ‘Hospital today, show tomorrow, poisonous spiders are NO BUENO but the show must go on, see you tomorrow Mexico City!’
Over the following 12 hours, her reaction reportedly intensified, and Momsen later said she had to remain under medical supervision overnight while doctors monitored the bite.
In another post, she thanked the medical team, writing: ‘Thank you to the amazing doctors who, well, they know,’ while sharing photos of herself with an ice pack on her head and another of her still-inflamed leg.
While a spider bite wasn’t exactly part of the tour schedule, it’s also not the first time Momsen has dealt with an animal-related incident around a live show.

In 2024, she said she needed rabies shots after a bat latched onto her leg during a performance in Spain.
“There’s a flying bat on my leg right now. Could someone help me please?” she told the crowd at the time, as the animal fluttered around her legs before clinging to her skirt.
Momsen later explained she only realised after the show that the bat had actually bitten her thigh.
She wrote on Instagram afterward: ‘In the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing…he was cute, but yes he bit me…so rabies shots for the next two weeks 😖😖😖,’
