Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have officially announced their engagement.
The couple’s romance captured public attention after they were first spotted together in September 2023. They were seen following a victorious home game for the Kansas City Chiefs, where Kelce and his team secured a win against the Chicago Bears with a score of 41-10.
In 2023, Kelce mentioned his initial attempt to pass a friendship bracelet with his phone number to Swift, which didn’t go as planned.
He later shared more details about the beginning of their relationship, noting that they had already been in communication prior to their first meeting in New York.
In the ensuing months, Swift frequently showed her support for the Chiefs’ Tight End by attending several of his games. Notably, she was present at Super Bowl LVXIII, where the couple shared a kiss after the game concluded.
After Kelce’s successful 2023/2024 NFL season ended, he was spotted on stage during Swift’s Eras Tour, which concluded last year.
While they had been seen together publicly and at NFL events before, Kelce’s appearance on Swift’s stage marked his entry into her world.
Many fans anticipated the couple’s engagement, with speculation rife among Swift’s followers leading up to the announcement.
Now, the couple has confirmed their engagement on Instagram.
This proposal follows reports from May 2024 suggesting that Kelce wasn’t considering marriage at that time. Insiders informed Us Weekly that the couple’s journey to this stage might take time.
“It’s not even on his radar,” sources conveyed to Us Weekly at that time. “Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.”
Prior to their engagement, the pair shared numerous heartfelt moments, often after Kelce’s NFL games.
After one of Kelce’s games, Swift was seen embracing, kissing, and chatting with him amid confetti, creating a scene that fans have described as ‘wholesome’.
