Taylor Swift surprised fans by appearing unexpectedly at a Bon Iver concert in London on Wednesday night.
The global superstar took the stage at Wembley’s OVO Arena to perform Exile, a hit track from her 2020 album Folklore, fresh off the release of her record-breaking new album Midnights.
It was the first time she, Bon Iver (real name Justin Vernon), and The National’s Aaron Dessner performed the song live together.
Not surprisingly, footage of their performance has since gone viral on social media, garnering millions of views.
The 32-year-old singer arrived unannounced after Vernon had already begun singing the song, eliciting a stunned applause, which she returned with a wave.
As they completed the song, Vernon declared, “The most talented person alive, Taylor Swift,” to which she replied, “The most talented person alive, Justin Vernon.”
Over the applause, Swift added, “Also the most talented person in the world, Aaron Dessner!”
Vernon joked as Swift exited the stage, “We don’t know what to do now.”
Fans described the performance as “frankly epic” and “quite incredible” in their social media comments, which ranged from incredulous to ecstatic.
“You should have seen all the bored girlfriends come to life when Bon Iver released Taylor Swift. Raised the dead,” one viewer joked.
Chart-topping Swift is having a fantastic week after releasing Midnights on Friday, with Spotify announcing less than 24 hours later that she has broken the streaming record on their platform.
