Taylor Swift has shared that there is one particular fan theory that she finds most bothersome.
The 35-year-old pop superstar is often at the center of some rather bizarre conspiracy theories.
In the previous year, Swift was accused by Fox News host Jesse Watters of being an undercover government psy-op, just a few months after some critics labeled her a ‘girlboss psyop’ following her win as Person of the Year in 2023.
More recently, the ‘Karma’ singer has faced claims of being the antichrist, with some suggesting that her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce is orchestrated by Satan so Swift can ‘give birth to the antichrist’, triggering an ‘apocalyptic thousand-year war’ while on a world tour.
However, this isn’t the theory that bothers Swift the most, likely because of how absurd it is, making it more amusing than anything else.
For the ‘Love Story’ artist, there is one particular notion she finds hard to laugh off.
During her appearance on ‘The Scott Mills Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2, the host asked Swift if her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, would be her final work after marrying Kelce.
“I just saw some fans going, ‘Well, she’s going to get married and then she’s going to have children and then she’s going to be the last album’,” Mills explained.
Though Swift chuckled, she remarked that it is ‘a shockingly offensive thing to say’.
“It’s not why people get married,” she continued. “So that they can quit their job. It’s also like music for me is…” to which Mills interjected: “I think the fans were just panicking.”
“Oh, I know they love to panic sometimes,” Swift said, “but it’s like I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.
“That’s the coolest thing about Travis, like he is so passionate about what he does, that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us.
“There’s no point in time where he’s gonna be like, ‘I’m really upset that you’re still making the music. The music thing that I signed up for that I knew you love, I thought you were gonna stop doing that.’”
Swift assured her fans that she isn’t leaving the industry she loves, highlighting a shared trait between her and Kelce in their respective careers.
“We both, as a living, as a job, as a passion, perform for three and a half hours in NFL stadiums,” she said. ‘We both do three and a half hour shows to entertain people. When I’m in those stadiums, it’s a dressing room, but when he’s in those exact same stadiums, it’s a locker room.”
“For him, it’s practice. For me, it’s rehearsal. For him, it’s a game. For me, it’s a show. We just call them different things.”
Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs player announced their engagement in August of this year after going public with their relationship in the summer of 2023.
