Taylor Swift’s Extreme Wedding Security Copies Donald Trump Tactic to Keep Everyone Far Away

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s much-discussed wedding is now expected to take place at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, with reports saying the event will be wrapped in unusually heavy security designed to keep paparazzi and onlookers far from the couple.

Several outlets have reported that a permit was filed to close streets around the venue from July 2 through July 4 for an event on July 3, with City Hall confirming that Madison Square Garden is planning to host wedding festivities that day.

While a major security presence would be expected at any star-studded gathering, insiders claim Swift’s team is taking things even further with precautions said to mirror the kind of measures used during Donald Trump’s recent appearance at the venue.

The event is said to involve a tightly controlled guest list and a specially managed perimeter outside the arena, with reports of a tent setup and blocked-off streets to help keep the couple well out of reach on the big day.

Sources say the evening will then shift into cocktails ahead of the main ceremony.

With multiple entrances, a tightly controlled setting, and very little public detail, the setup appears to be aimed at making sure the bride and groom remain well out of reach.

The publication says the couple has moved to secure the area in much the same way Trump did when he attended the Knicks’ NBA finals game at MSG on June 8, effectively locking down the surrounding space.

They are reportedly behind a permit request for street closures around the Garden from July 2 through July 4, along with plans for a public tent outside the venue.

It may not be identical to the enclosure used during Trump’s visit, but it is reportedly expected to serve its purpose.

The guest list is said to feature names including Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Zoë Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, the Haim sisters, Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw.

Per reports, the ceremony is expected to begin on Friday evening, with the reception following inside the New York City venue’s theatre, which can accommodate more than 5,000 people.

There has also been talk of a temporary castle being built for a garden party, which has prompted speculation that the aesthetic could echo her ‘Love Story’ music video.

As anticipation builds, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to joke about the disruption during a press conference, urging residents to stay cool in the heat “especially if you’re (hypothetically) having your wedding at MSG this weekend”.
