Before participating in what is often referred to as the most ‘extreme haunted house,’ visitors are required to agree to a stringent set of rules and sign an extensive waiver.
Labeling it a haunted house seems somewhat misleading, not just because ghosts aren’t real, but because the experience resembles a survival challenge more than a typical Halloween festivity.
A social media video featuring a woman who went through the experience has recently gained attention.
TikTok user Scary Terry has started a six-part series on TikTok dissecting the unusual video and detailing what the haunted house experience entails.
Every year during Halloween, some individuals take the opportunity to enroll in McKamey Manor, an interactive ‘extreme haunt’ located in Tennessee that has garnered a devoted online following.

This isn’t your average haunted attraction with people in masks jumping out to scare you; McKamey Manor has developed a reputation for being extremely intense.
In fact, it is so extreme that prospective participants must meet seven conditions ‘for your safety,’ as stated on its website.
Some of these are fairly standard, while others raise more concerns…
The website specifies that participants must be: “21 and above, or 18-20 with parental approval.
“Completed ‘Sports Physical’ and a doctor’s letter affirming you are physically and mentally fit.
“Pass a background check provided by MM. Be screened via FB FaceTime or phone. Proof of medical insurance. Sign a detailed 40-page waiver and pass a drug test on the day of the show.”
Clearly, they are not taking this lightly.
Participants willingly volunteer to be ‘kidnapped’ and endure the harsh and enduring ‘interactive experience.’
The TikToker’s focus was on 44-year-old Christina Buster, recorded after her ordeal at the Manor.
“You are a tough chick,” someone comments off-camera to Buster, who appears exhausted after the experience.
Her hair looks as if it has been cut, and the TikTok commentator notes she had a full set of hair before entering the haunted house.
Buster expresses gratitude to the staff for ‘pushing her,’ even when she was tempted to quit.
Interestingly, Buster had taunted the organizers on Facebook for over a year before deciding to participate. She lasted only five minutes initially before begging to be let back in.
Before her second attempt, Buster told The Guardian: “Last time was brutal.”
“I’ve come back to test my limits, push myself further. I’m nervous and I’m scared. I’m expecting to be torn limb from limb, to get it worse.”
Her goal was achieved; she underwent an intense experience and surpassed her previous attempt, lasting four and a half hours inside the Manor.
While it’s not everyone’s preference, those intrigued by such extreme experiences can join the waiting list to partake in something beyond the usual Halloween scare.
