It’s surprising to see how a Super Bowl halftime show can influence online search patterns, but that’s exactly what happened.
During Super Bowl LX last weekend, Bad Bunny delivered a performance filled with his popular tracks, garnering mixed reactions from both football enthusiasts and those watching primarily for the halftime spectacle and commercials.
In terms of the game, the Seattle Seahawks triumphed over the New England Patriots with a score of 29-1, bringing joy to their fans as they secured their second Super Bowl title.
While Taylor Swift was absent from this year’s event, Travis Kelce was spotted despite his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, not playing in the Super Bowl.
After the Super Bowl, Pornhub observed a surge in searches related to football categories on its platform. The term ‘Super Bowl’ experienced a dramatic 5,632 percent increase in searches compared to those in November.
The porn website reported a rise in searches for locker-room scenes, college athletes, cheerleaders, and Latino men following the conclusion of the game in San Francisco.

In particular, the search term ‘jock’ skyrocketed by over 4,000 percent, while ‘h*** college jock’ increased by almost 3,000 percent.
Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, which emphasized Puerto Rican culture, also led to a spike in Latino and Puerto Rico related searches on Pornhub.
The search for ‘amateur latino’ content surged by an impressive 880 percent, and ‘Latina solo dirty talk’ searches rose by 470 percent.
Pornhub stated in a press release: “The searches during the Super Bowl reveal that people are interested in more than just the game. Jocks, cheerleaders, showers, and a range of other terms appear in the search list, reflecting the fantasies of those involved in the game as well as the sport itself.”

The site also indicated how Bad Bunny’s performance interrupted viewers’ usual habits.
“The Super Bowl halftime show began at 8pm and was led by an outstanding performance by the recent Grammy album of the year winner, Bad Bunny,” they explained on their website.
“While the Super Bowl itself attracts a large audience, the halftime show often results in the biggest dip in traffic during the event.”
“This year, traffic reached a low of –46% at 8:31pm. Essentially, millions opted to take a break from their typical Pornhub visit to watch Bad Bunny perform.”
