The search for the next 007 is underway, and one surprising newcomer has now been floated as a potential pick.
With casting director Nina Gold overseeing the process of finding Daniel Craig’s replacement, the next James Bond movie is already generating major buzz.
And with Oscar-nominated Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Prisoners) set to direct, the 26th instalment is being positioned to introduce the franchise to a fresh wave of viewers.
Of course, stepping into Bond’s shoes comes with enormous expectations, both on and off screen.
In recent months, speculation has circled around names such as Jacob Elordi (Euphoria), Callum Turner (Rose of Nevada), Harris Dickinson (Babygirl) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (28 Years Later) as possible contenders for the role.
But now, an unexpected “suggestion” has come from the White House.
That idea may not align with the criteria reportedly shared with Deadline that the actor chosen should “ooze sex appeal”.

That’s because the White House has put forward Donald Trump in the conversation.
Yes, really.
The US President was highlighted in a government post as a potential face for the Amazon MGM Studios Bond film, despite not being an actor and also being far older than the physically demanding role typically calls for.
In a post on X, the White House shared an apparent 007-inspired image depicting Trump in a tuxedo holding a gun, alongside the words “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” and “007” with its logo.

While the post didn’t explicitly state it was a genuine push to cast him, reactions online were sharply divided.
“They’re doing anything to market him and make him likeable again, but it’s not going to work. He messed up,” one person wrote.
Another commented: “Donald Trump would be better suited as a Bond villain. He checks all of the boxes, except for intelligence. So maybe not quite the Bond villain. But a villain nonetheless.”
Others dismissed the outrage, with one defender saying: “Watching people lose their shit because their TDS controls their miserable lives will never get old. You guys make it so easy to troll.”
For now, nothing about the next Bond has been officially decided. The studio reiterated to Variety: “While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.”
