Timothée Chalamet’s uncomfortable reply to query about the ‘smelliest’ co-star

Timothée Chalamet had an awkward moment when asked about the ‘smelliest’ actor he’s worked with. The 29-year-old actor is currently promoting his film, A Complete Unknown, and recently did a series of interviews in the UK.

Chalamet, alongside his co-star Edward Norton, appeared on BBC Radio 1 where they discussed their new movie and past experiences. During a segment where school children ask celebrities humorous questions, the duo was asked to name the ‘smelliest’ actor they had worked with.

While Norton jokingly pointed towards Chalamet, Timothée had someone else in mind from his past collaborations.

He explained, without naming the person, “I’m not gonna say any names ‘cause, you know, that would just be mean. But I did work on a Western years ago, and somebody was — quote, unquote — ‘in character’ the whole time, and, uh, it was something.”

Chalamet mentioned that the actor had simply stopped washing, but clarified it was not his co-star Casey Affleck.

“It wasn’t Casey Affleck,” he added. “I was there for two months, they were really committed.”

The press tour for the Bob Dylan biopic has been quite eventful for Chalamet.

He rode an electric Lime bike to the London premiere but was fined nearly $80 for not parking it properly. Chalamet said he chose the bike to navigate through London traffic quickly and make it to the premiere on time.

The biopic, released on 17 January, chronicles Dylan’s journey from his early music career to the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. It features Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro, and is directed by James Mangold.

Earlier this month, fans were thrilled to spot Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, at the Golden Globes.

The couple reportedly started dating in 2023 after Jenner separated from Travis Scott. Their appearance at the Golden Globes was described as a ‘hard launch’ by fans, who speculated on their conversation through lip reading.

It appeared Chalamet thanked Jenner for her support, to which she replied: “I only care about you. I wouldn’t miss something like this.”
