Kiva Ford is a master glassblower whose passion for glass began early in life, leading him to earn a college degree in Scientific Glassblowing.
Although he started out creating complex glass instruments, such as tubes and beakers, for scientific use, he has since taken his artistry to the next level.
Ford is steadily gaining renown for his intricate glass sculptures.
His glassware also make for amazing showpieces.
But what really sets Ford’s work apart is his work with glass miniatures.
Barely an inch in size, Ford’s miniatures are as detailed as their larger counterparts.
His experience creating ornate scientific instruments certainly came in handy, as evident by the high level of craftsmanship used in his miniatures.
You can watch Ford’s extensive creative process in this video:
Ford’s miniatures are available for purchase via Etsy. He will also be giving glassblowing demonstrations for Glassfest at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York, on 21 May.
