Actor Tom Holland recently had to visit a hospital after a mishap on the set of the next Spider-Man movie led to an injury.
Holland is in the midst of filming “Spider-Man Brand New Day,” the fourth installment in his Spider-Man series.
This year, set photos and footage surfaced on social media, revealing that production was taking place in the UK.
On September 19, Holland suffered a head injury due to a fall while filming at Leavesden Studios in Watford, UK, and was treated for a concussion.
After the accident, the day’s filming was put on hold.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson provided details to the Sun.
They stated, “We were called at 10.30am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford.”
“An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.”
Dominic Holland, Tom’s comedian father, commented on the incident during a charity function, mentioning that his son would need to take a break from filming.
Tom Holland was present at the event with his fiancé Zendaya but reportedly left earlier due to feeling unwell.
It remains uncertain how the film’s production will proceed without Holland or if this will affect the movie’s scheduled release in July 2026.
Before filming began, Holland shared his enthusiasm about the new project, especially given speculation that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” might be his last appearance as the superhero.
Speaking with Complex, he expressed: “It’s been a really fun process developing the movie.”
“It’s the first time I’ve ever been allowed in that part of the process, and it’s definitely a stressful experience. But I think where we’ve got to, now that we’re shooting, we are shooting absolute gold.”
Holland further commented, “It’s a fresh start, it really feels like we’re not making the fourth movie,” and continued, “We’re making the first movie of the next chapter. It’s a rebirth. It’s a whole new thing.”
He also mentioned that he conducted discreet research to gauge fan expectations by analyzing responses to previous films to shape the latest Spider-Man installment.
The cast of “Brand New Day” sees the return of Holland alongside Jacob Batalon and Zendaya, with new faces like “Stranger Things” star Sadie Sink joining the lineup.
