Tom Holland recently offered some intriguing thoughts on his future as Spider-Man.
The 29-year-old actor has embodied the legendary superhero for the past eight years, appearing in three standalone Spider-Man films as well as six entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The fourth installment is scheduled for release in July 2026.
In a recent conversation, Holland spoke about how long he envisions continuing in this iconic role.
When questioned about the longevity of his tenure as Spider-Man, Holland explained: “It’s all about what’s in front of you, and right now what’s in front of us is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and focusing on making that movie worthy of the last movie.
“It’s been a really interesting task getting to set and figuring out the story, and I have been actively sifting through the internet and trying to best understand what it is that the fans want from a Spider-Man movie, and that’s been my driving force in these pitch meetings.”

Holland also mentioned that he is uncertain about the future and does not have all the answers about what lies ahead.
“And I think the producers, at times were like, absolutely sick of me, but I think it’s really important, because, you know, we make these movies for them, and I don’t know what the future of it looks like,” he said.
“All I know is that right now, what we have and what we’re working on is very bright, and I think it’s going to be really fantastic. And it feels very different, fresh, profound and new, yeah, but in terms of, like, my future in the character beyond this film, I don’t know the answers to that question.”
When asked to describe his ideal role, he shared: “As an actor, you know, I’m just blessed to be doing what I’m doing.
“Yeah, I’m not trying to be greedy in any way. I just walked on set yesterday for Spider-Man four, Spider Man: Brand New Day, as I should be saying, I just am loving it, and I’m lucky, and I don’t want to ever be too greedy.”

In addition to filming the upcoming Spider-Man movie, Holland is also planning his wedding after getting engaged to Zendaya earlier this year.
The couple first crossed paths on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, with dating rumors emerging the following year.
In January, Zendaya was seen with a diamond ring at the 82nd Golden Globes, sparking engagement speculation.
Holland’s father, Dominic Holland, later discussed the engagement in a Patreon blog post.
“The big news this week is a good example of just such an opportunity for me—are they/aren’t they engaged?” he wrote.
“Zendaya wearing a ring and Tom nowhere to be seen, adding to the intrigue.
“Tom, as you know by now was very incredibly well prepared. He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter. Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear.”

Dominic further expressed, “…Even though show-business is a messy place for relationships and particularly so for famous couples as they crash and burn in public and are too numerous to mention…I am completely confident they will make a successful union.”
