The couple dined at Madeo restaurant in West Hollywood on Tuesday evening, spending nearly two hours at the upscale Italian spot before waiting for valet service to retrieve their vehicle. The outing marked a uncommon public appearance for the pair, who largely keep their decades-long marriage out of the spotlight.
Jones dressed casually for the occasion, pairing khaki pants with a red collared shirt layered beneath a black cardigan and sneakers. Laurel-Jones matched the relaxed tone in khaki pants of her own, a brown sweater and brown boots, and was seen carrying both a to-go bag from the restaurant and a large designer purse.
The “Men in Black” star’s low-key evening out followed another rare public moment less than a month prior. On October 7, Jones walked the red carpet solo at the Season 2 premiere of “The Lowdown” in Austin, Texas, appearing in good spirits at the star-studded event.
In that FX series, Jones takes on the role of Lee Raybon Sr., a self-described journalist who uncovers political corruption in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The show represents one of the veteran actor’s more recent television projects.
Jones and Laurel-Jones have built their life together largely away from Hollywood’s glare. The two first crossed paths in 1995 on the set of the television movie “The Good Old Boys,” where Laurel-Jones was working as an assistant camera operator. Their professional encounter on that production eventually led to romance.
The couple made it official in March 2001, exchanging vows in a private ceremony held in San Antonio. Since then, they have maintained a deliberately quiet partnership, splitting their time between a ranch in Jones’s native Texas and a sprawling 74-acre polo range they own in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
That dual-continent lifestyle has helped the pair stay removed from the typical celebrity circuit, making their Tuesday evening appearance at the West Hollywood dining destination all the more notable for longtime observers of the reclusive star.
