This is the tender and almost human moment an orangutan kisses the pregnant stomach of a zoo visitor.
While visiting Colchester Zoo, UK, Maisie Knight pressed her 37-week-old bump against the glass of Rajang the orangutan’s enclosure. At first, the ape looks at Maisie’s pregnant belly, transfixed.
But he then leans in, and much to the couples joy, gives her belly a kiss through the glass.
Maisie giggles with delight as Rajang gives her bump a peck for the second time.
The mother-to-be was with her partner Jamie Clarke when they passed by the orangutan enclosure. Jamie tried to get in on the action, as well. “I’ll put my belly there and see if he will do the same thing,” he said. But Rajang wasn’t interested.
