Transcript of Barron Trump’s ‘lifesaving’ 999 call to UK police made public as dispatcher advised him to ‘stop being rude’

The full transcript of Barron Trump’s emergency call to a 999 operator has been disclosed in court during the trial of a man accused of assault.

Matvei Rumiantsev, a 22-year-old Russian national, is currently on trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court in Plymouth. He faces charges related to an alleged assault on a woman in January 2025, including allegations of assault and two counts of rape. Rumiantsev has denied all charges.

On January 18, while video-chatting with the alleged victim, whose identity remains confidential for legal purposes, Barron Trump, the son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, reportedly witnessed the alleged attack.

It was reported in court that Rumiantsev allegedly strangled the victim, prompting her to call the police, which led to his arrest the following day.

After witnessing a portion of the alleged attack, Barron Trump took the initiative to contact UK authorities to report the incident.

According to the transcript released by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Barron stated: “I’m calling from the US, uh, I just got a call from a girl, you know, she’s getting beat up. This was happening about eight minutes ago.

“I just figured out how to, how to call someone. Uh, uh it’s really an emergency.”

When the dispatcher inquired about his connection to the alleged victim, Barron responded: “I don’t think these details matter, she’s getting beat up but OK fine, also I met her on social media, I don’t think that matters.”

The operator replied: “Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions?”

The transcript indicated that the operator further instructed Barron that if he wished to assist the victim, he should “answer my questions clearly and precisely, thank you,” to which Barron replied that he did not know the identity of the alleged attacker but emphasized the severity of the situation.

He added: “She’s getting really badly beat up, and the call was about eight minutes ago. I don’t know what could have happened by now.”

Barron then apologized for ‘being rude’. In his police witness statement via email on May 2, Barron mentioned he didn’t expect the call to be answered by the victim due to the time difference. However, upon answering, he witnessed a ‘shirtless man with darkish hair’ on the screen.

Barron described how the view then shifted to the victim being assaulted, which lasted ‘maybe one second’, explaining: “This whole interaction had lasted five to seven seconds.”

As reported by the BBC, Barron mentioned that he also urged two other friends in the US to contact the Metropolitan Police, acknowledging that while he lacked physical evidence, the victim allegedly informed him that Rumiantsev had been ‘causing trouble for a long time’.

Rumiantsev claimed that an altercation with the victim escalated when she became ‘completely hysterical, crying, screaming, shouting at me’, prompting him to allegedly restrain her arms to prevent her from hitting him.

“I noticed her phone next to me on the sofa and it was ringing with a Barron Trump face call,” he said, adding that he wasn’t sure exactly why he answered, but thought that she ‘wouldn’t behave like this in front of someone else’.

When questioned by the prosecution about whether jealousy was a factor, Rumiantsev admitted he was more upset about the victim’s behavior towards Barron Trump, expressing that he wanted to ‘make clear that her actions towards him were wrong and it was not fair’.

“I was jealous to some extent,” he conceded (via The Guardian).

The trial continues.
