Taylor Swift enthusiasts are experiencing a wave of emotions following a touching revelation about her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, that has been circulating online.
International superstar Swift and renowned NFL tight end Kelce are each other’s staunchest supporters – though Swift’s fans might insist otherwise.
The dynamic duo has been an item for nearly two years, with Swift often seen in the stands at Kansas City Chiefs games, and Kelce making a memorable appearance during her Eras Tour show at Wembley Stadium last summer (which, by the way, I was fortunate enough to attend – and I’m always eager to share!).
On Tuesday (August 12), fans of the endearing couple were thrown into a frenzy when Swift joined Kelce and his brother, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelce, for a significant announcement on their New Heights podcast.
A preview clip featured the singer holding a mint green briefcase adorned with ‘TS’, as she unveiled a pixelated vinyl cover, announcing: “This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”
Co-host Jason responded with an excited scream, while Kelce also celebrated, exclaiming: “TS 12!”, referencing her 12th album, which they strategically planned to reveal at 12:12 pm on the 12th.
Swift is known for her deliberate use of numbers and synchronicities, integrating them into both her album releases and the music itself.
The complete podcast episode will be released on Wednesday (August 13 – Swift’s lucky number…) at 7 pm ET. Her website, meanwhile, hints at a ‘pre pre-order’ of the album, with the cover still obscured.
As fans rejoice over the announcement, many are reflecting on how far the couple has come – all tracing back to New Heights.
The weekly sports podcast was launched in September 2022, and nearly a year later, in a July 2023 episode, Kelce casually mentioned Swift for the first time.
He recounted attending her Eras Tour show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and attempting to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it – although, to his dismay, he never had the opportunity to present it.
This moment, he shared, eventually led to them connecting after the show. And the rest, as they say, is history…
One fan captured the sentiment perfectly by sharing the videos of Kelce’s initial mention of Swift and her recent appearance on the podcast, simply stating: “We’ve come so far.”
“Manifestation in real life,” another fan responded, while someone else called Kelce ‘Mr Mastermind’, referring to Swift’s 2022 Midnights track about making plans to win someone over.
“He knew what he wanted and boy he got her,” commented another, referencing the bridge of ‘So High School’ from Swift’s 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department.
“Don’t make me cry,” one person wrote, while another fan added: “I became a fan of that football player because of a Taylor concert… and now Taylor shows up on his podcast.”
If you were seeking a sign to take a chance, perhaps this is it. Although, not everyone is Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, right?
