Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have faced backlash after hosting a joint birthday party for their children, which included elements reminiscent of Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival.
The former couple, who ended their relationship in 2023 after six years, are parents to Stormi and Aire, who celebrated their eighth and fourth birthdays, respectively, on February 1 and February 2. Despite their breakup, Jenner and Scott continue to co-parent amicably, even as Jenner enters a new relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet.
Their children’s birthday party, shared on social media, was desert-themed, featuring rock sculptures, palm trees, cacti, and signs that read ‘Stormi World’ and ‘Planet Aire’.

A focal point of the party was an inflatable head at the entrance, similar to one used at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. This decision sparked criticism due to the tragic events that unfolded at the festival in November 2021.
During the festival, crowd surges led to the deaths of 10 individuals, including nine-year-old Ezra Blount. Approximately 300 people were treated for injuries on-site, and 25 required hospitalization.
Authorities later reported that the cause of death for those who perished was compression asphyxia, ultimately ruling the deaths accidental.

The Astroworld incident brought attention to significant concerns regarding safety and crowd management at large-scale events. Although Scott was investigated criminally, he was not charged in connection with the event.
Following the party, social media users expressed their disapproval on platforms like Reddit. One user commented, “This was gross the first time now it’s literally disgusting. The blow-ups are in such horrible taste. It looks nothing like child’s birthday party.”
Another added, “What in the actual f**k???? People f**king died!! These people are so completely disconnected from reality it’s sickening.”
A third shared, “There truly are no words to describe how hollow and creepy this is, I’m having trouble convincing my own eyes that it’s real.”
Someone else remarked, “Literally blows my mind. Like okay, the first bday makes sense because a one year old doesn’t have interests of their own. But my 4-year-old already has her entire Kpop party planned out and her birthday isn’t until October.”
Another person concluded, “They need to give this theme up.”
Requests for comments have been sent to Jenner and Scott.
