Donald Trump has made a mockery of Europe while making his views on Greenland clear in a recent speech.
During a speech at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting, Donald Trump addressed the criticism he received over his insistence that the US should take control of Greenland.
From the podium, he emphasized that Europe and NATO need to decide on the US’s intention to annex the Danish territory.
In his address, he stated: “We want a piece of ice for world protection, and they [Denmark] won’t give it. We’ve never asked for anything else.
“We could have kept that piece of land and we didn’t.”
Regarding Europe and NATO, he commented: “They have a choice – you can say yes, and we will be very appreciative. Or you can say no, and we will remember.
In an unusual twist, Trump mentioned that Europe used to call him ‘Daddy’ before the recent criticism.
Confusing Iceland with Greenland, Trump stated: “I’m helping Europe. I’m helping NATO, and until the last few days when I told them about Iceland.
“When I told them about Iceland, they loved me.
“They called me ‘daddy’ right, last time, a very smart man said ‘he is our daddy’, he is out running it. I was stuck running it, I went from running it to being a terrible human being.
“But now what I’m asking for is a piece of ice, cold and poorly located.”
