The relationship between Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene appears to have soured significantly.
Once strong allies, Trump has now publicly severed ties with the representative from Georgia.
He announced on Truth Social, “I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia.”
He continued, “All I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN! It seemed to all begin when I sent her a Poll stating that she should not run for Senator, or Governor, she was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance (unless, of course, she had my Endorsement — which she wasn’t about to get!).”
Trump labeled her as a ‘ranting lunatic,’ and shortly after, Greene announced her departure from Congress.
Recently, Greene participated in an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes, where journalist Lesley Stahl left no topic unexplored.
During the interview, Stahl pressed Greene on what Republicans say about Trump in private.
Greene responded, “I think they’re terrified to step out of line and get nasty Truth Social posts about them,” speaking of her colleagues.
She added, “I’ve watched a lot of my colleagues go from making fun of [Trump], making fun of how he talks, making fun of me constantly for supporting him. When he won the primary in 2024, they all decided to start kissing his a*s and putting on a MAGA hat for the first time.”
The interview was broadcast yesterday (December 7), and Trump has since responded to Greene’s comments.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote: “The only reason Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!) went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States (Certainly not the first time she has been jilted!).
“Too much work, not enough time, and her ideas are, NOW, really BAD – She sort of reminds me of a Rotten Apple! Marjorie is not AMERICA FIRST or MAGA, because nobody could have changed her views so fast, and her new views are those of a very dumb person.”
He accused Greene of making ‘many really stupid statements’ and questioned her intelligence.
Additionally, Trump criticized Paramount Skydance for airing the CBS interview.
