Trump discloses surprising motive behind his desire for Greenland, asserting he’ll acquire it ‘by any means necessary’ in alarming statement

Donald Trump remains adamant that the United States will eventually obtain Greenland, asserting that such a move would benefit everyone involved.

Since assuming the presidency, Trump has frequently advocated for Greenland, a self-governing region within the Kingdom of Denmark, to join the United States.

Despite the Danish and Greenlandic governments repeatedly stating that Greenland is not available for purchase, Trump continues to express confidence in a potential acquisition.

Tensions between the countries have escalated after JD Vance made an unexpected visit to a US base in Greenland.

Greenland’s Acting Prime Minister, Mute Egede, commented on the visit, saying: “Just for the record, the government of Greenland has not extended any invitations for any visits, neither private nor official.”

During a recent interview with reporters at the White House, Trump clarified his reasons for pursuing Greenland so persistently.

In the Oval Office, he emphasized: “We need Greenland.

“Very importantly, for international security, we have to have Greenland. It’s not a question of, ‘Do you think we can do without it?’ We can’t.

“If you look at Greenland right now, if you look at the waterways, you have Chinese and Russian ships all over the place, and we’re not going to be able to do that. We’re not relying on Denmark or anybody else to take care of that situation.”

He continued: “And we’re not talking about peace for the United States. We’re talking about world peace. We’re talking about international security. And right now you look at it, you have warships all over the place going through, right along Greenland.”

This is not the first instance where Trump has expressed the United States’ strong desire for Greenland.

Addressing a joint session of Congress earlier this month, Trump delivered a message to Greenland’s citizens with a somewhat assertive tone.

He stated: “We strongly support your right to determine your own future. If you choose we welcome you into the United States of America.”

Further discussing his ambition to acquire Greenland, he remarked: “I think we’re going to get it – one way or the other, we’re going to get it … We will keep you safe. We will make you rich and together we will take Greenland to heights like you have never thought possible before.”
