Trump exposed in major ‘lie’ as governor confronts him with sharp 6-word retort

Donald Trump seems to have been exposed in a significant falsehood as the Governor of Maryland sharply rebuked the president with a terse six-word retort.

It’s well-known that the Republican president frequently makes statements, particularly to the media he regularly invites into the Oval Office.

While unveiling a series of new executive orders on Monday (August 25), Trump referred to the Maryland city of Baltimore as a ‘horrible death bed’ plagued by crime, a statement he has previously used to describe various Democratic-led US cities.

Trump claimed that Governor Wes Moore acknowledged him as ‘the greatest president’ of his lifetime—a statement Moore swiftly refuted.

The governor responded with a simple ‘lol’ on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, before replying with a six-word remark directed at the POTUS.

“Keep telling yourself that, Mr. President,” he added.

Addressing Trump’s assertions, Carter Elliott IV, a senior communications adviser to Moore, stated: “Moore and the president met, but the governor did not say that.”

Moore has also addressed the comments by Trump on local radio, emphasizing that he never made such statements to the president.

“I’m a person who takes my integrity very seriously, and I spent the past six months before that election campaigning as to why I did not think that he should be the next president of the United States,” Moore explained on WBAL Radio.

“So when I say that conversation never happened, that imaginary conversation never happened, I mean that conversation never happened.”

Trump criticized Moore on Monday, claiming he lacks the capability to reduce crime rates in Maryland.

While Moore is considered a potential candidate for the Democratic nomination for president in 2028, the current vice president, JD Vance, is seemingly favored among Republicans.

Vance was directly questioned by NBC regarding whether he sees Trump ‘passing the torch’ to him for 2028.

The VP laughed immediately, maintaining a broad smile as he responded: “As you know, the president talks about everything. And if it’s in the news, the president and I have certainly discussed it.”

Nevertheless, Vance continued: “Before we talk about anything three-and-a-half years down the road, let’s take a break from politics, focus on governing the country and when we return to politics it’s gonna be to focus on those midterm elections.”
