Concerns regarding Donald Trump’s health have resurfaced following his recent bill-signing event in the Oval Office. Speculation on social media heightened with rumors falsely claiming the US president had passed away, fueled by a combination of coincidental events.
Vice President JD Vance’s comments about being prepared to assume Trump’s responsibilities further stirred the rumor mill. Despite these claims being unfounded, the conversation around Trump’s health persists.
During a Friday event, Trump signed several bills and executive orders, including a notable change renaming the Department of Defence as the Department of War. His actions prior to signing these documents have reignited discussions about his health.
Before signing, Trump sought explanations for the documents from those present, raising eyebrows. Among the bills was the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act, targeting ‘Trigger Leads’—loan applicants whose information is often shared without consent.
Trump asked Rep. John Rose (R-Tenn.) to explain the legislation before signing, commending the Congressman with a “Good job.”
This behavior sparked mixed reactions online, with many questioning Trump’s grasp of the bills. Concerns were voiced about the potential for the president to be misled.
One user remarked on social media, “They always have to explain [the bills] to him. You’ve got to wonder how much they lie to him.” Another commented, “Trump needs glasses to read. He is signing stuff he hasn’t read.”
Some dismissed these concerns, with a Trump supporter stating, “He has them read back for the courtesy of the media and the American people. Biden signed things he had no clue about and didn’t tell anyone including you.”
Speculation about Trump’s health was fueled further by his cleared schedule and noticeable bruises on his hand, similar to those seen on Queen Elizabeth II before her passing. JD Vance’s statement about being prepared for a “terrible tragedy” only fanned the flames.
However, Trump has countered these rumors on Truth Social, asserting that he feels “never better.”
