Trump issues alarming warning after departing G7 early for ‘significant’ matter amid Israel-Iran conflict

Donald Trump expressed a disturbing message on social media after his unexpected early departure from the G7 summit, which was for an unspecified reason.

In recent days, Israel and Iran have experienced heightened tensions as both countries have engaged in missile exchanges. The situation escalated when Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran’s nuclear and military sites last week, leading to retaliatory strikes on Tel Aviv by Iran.

This escalating conflict was likely a key topic of discussion among the leaders at this year’s G7 meeting, which took place in Canada.

Adding to the concern, Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Monday (June 16) to assert that Iran needs to enter into a new nuclear agreement.

The former President has been urging Iran to agree to a nuclear deal with the major global powers, known as the P5+1, which includes the US, UK, Germany, France, China, and Russia. These countries have been in negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program since 2006.

In a recent post on the issue, Trump issued a warning to Iran: “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

After leaving the G7 meeting a day early, Trump is heading back to Washington, D.C. French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that Trump’s early departure was to aid in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

However, Trump refuted this claim via social media, stating that he was addressing a ‘bigger issue’ than just a ceasefire.

Shortly after his initial message, Trump added: “Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a ‘cease fire’ between Israel and Iran.

“Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took to Twitter to clarify the situation, stating that despite his early departure, Trump had achieved significant outcomes during the G7 summit.

She wrote: “Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State.”
