Donald Trump recently uploaded and subsequently removed an AI-generated video from his Truth Social account, which sparked a wild conspiracy theory over the weekend.
Those who follow the former president on Truth Social are aware of his frequent posts, some of which are more extravagant than others.
Trump frequently uses the platform to share details about his interactions with various world leaders, and occasionally, peculiar videos appear on his feed as well.
Despite his busy schedule, Trump took a moment to share a digitally-created video of himself appearing to pitch a ‘new form’ of healthcare in the U.S., which is entirely fictional.
The video – a fabricated Fox News segment depicting an AI version of Trump stating every American would receive ‘their own medbed card’ – was removed roughly 12 hours after posting, as reported by The Daily Beast.
“Every American will soon receive their own medbed card,” an AI-generated version of the president stated in the video. “With it, you’ll have guaranteed access to our new hospitals led by the top doctors in the nation, equipped with the most advanced technology in the world.”
The fake Trump further claimed: “These facilities are safe, modern and designed to restore every citizen to full health and strength.”
CNN’s Jake Tapper addressed the video on Instagram, explaining the concept of ‘medbeds’.
“Medbeds are a conspiracy theory popular with QAnon people, in which there exists these magic beds, which restore limbs and reverse aging and cure anything that befalls the human body, but they’re only available to the rich and the elite,” the reporter explained on CNN’s social channels.
For skeptics doubting the authenticity of the video, Fox News confirmed to The Verge that the segment ‘never aired on Fox News Channel or any other Fox News Media platforms’.
Efforts have been made to contact the White House for their response.
Additionally, in other news concerning Trump, the former president announced a 100 percent tariff on ‘any and all’ movies produced outside the United States.
On Monday (September 29), Trump stated on Truth Social: “Our movie making business has been stolen from the United States of America, by other Countries, just like stealing ‘candy from a baby.'”
He then criticized Hollywood and California, saying: “California, with its weak and incompetent Governor, has been particularly hard hit! Therefore, in order to solve this long time, never ending problem, I will be imposing a 100% Tariff on any and all movies that are made outside of the United States.”
