President Donald Trump has requested reporters to gather in the Oval Office following his extended absence, prompting speculation about a potential resignation announcement.
After several days of uncertainty regarding the well-being of the 79-year-old President, the Trump administration has summoned the press to the White House for a 2pm meeting on Tuesday, September 2.
“THE PRESIDENT makes an announcement,” reads the cryptic message from his staff, leaving many puzzled about its significance.
A Twitter user asked the question: “Is he resigning?”
Another remarked: “You don’t call the cameras unless you’ve got something heavy to say.”
A third joked: “People are saying he’s going to announce that he has unfortunately died.”
This speculation arises from concerns regarding the Republican leader’s health, with many noticing recurring bruising on his right hand, coupled with his age.
The rumors began when Trump had no public engagements scheduled for Saturday, August 30, sparking theories that he might have passed away rather than simply taken a day off.
On Truth Social, the President addressed and dismissed the rumors of his demise, although a photograph of him on the South Lawn with his granddaughter Kai Trump the same day already disproved them. They were preparing to visit the Trump National golf course in Sterling, Virginia.
“NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE. Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE! President DJT,” he stated.
Clearly, the President is very much alive, yet these rumors persist as some online have speculated about his death during his second term.
Regarding what the announcement could be, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told the Washington Examiner that the Trump administration might declare a national housing emergency this autumn.
“We’re trying to figure out what we can do, and we don’t want to step into the business of states, counties, and municipal governments,” he explained. “We may declare a national housing emergency in the fall.”
More details to come.
