Trump unveils ambitious strategy to swiftly conclude the war in ‘world letter’ amid rising tensions

Donald Trump has expressed his strong opinion on how the conflict between Russia and Ukraine could be resolved. The former President stated that if NATO does not take decisive action, he will consider it a misuse of the United States’ resources.

Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged European countries to stop purchasing oil and gas from Russia.

In a conversation with ABC News, Zelenskyy stated: “We have to stop [buying] any kind of energy from Russia, and by the way, anything, any deals with Russia. We can’t have any deals if we want to stop them.”

Following this, Donald Trump, 79, made a similar assertion in a letter directed to ‘all NATO’ nations and the global community.

The message, shared on his platform, Truth Social, indicated his willingness to enforce ‘major sanctions’ on Russia under the condition that NATO nations halt oil purchases from the country.

“As you know, NATO’S commitment to WIN has been far less than 100%, and the purchase of Russian Oil, by some, has been shocking!,” he stated on Saturday (September 13).

“It greatly weakens your negotiating position, and bargaining power, over Russia. Anyway, I am ready to ‘go’ when you are.”

“Just say when? I believe that this, plus NATO, as a group, placing 50% to 100% TARIFFS ON CHINA, to be fully withdrawn after the WAR with Russia and Ukraine is ended, will also be of great help in ENDING this deadly, but RIDICULOUS, WAR.”

Trump suggested that China currently holds ‘a strong control’ over Russia but believed that imposing significant tariffs would disrupt this ‘grip’.

He further stated that although it is ‘wasn’t his war’, he is prepared to intervene and save ‘thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives’.

“If NATO does as I say, the WAR will end quickly, and all of those lives will be saved! If not, you are just wasting my time, and the time, energy, and money of the United States.

“Thank you for your attention to this matter! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

Trump has in the past proposed tariffs on Russia, setting various deadlines that were disregarded.

The 47th President of the United States has also sought to facilitate ceasefire discussions with Vladimir Putin, having met the Russian leader in Alaska for what he described as a ‘productive’ dialogue.

Despite not addressing the Russia-Ukraine conflict during their meeting, the former President claimed that ‘many points were agreed to’.

“There are just a very few that are left. Some are not that significant. One is probably the most significant, but we have a very good chance of getting there. There’s no deal until there’s a deal,” he noted.

Trump later invited European leaders, including Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, to the White House for further discussions on ceasefire possibilities.

On September 13, Ukraine launched an attack on a Russian chemical plant in Perm, Krai.

Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin reported that the Metafrax Chemicals plant was ‘operating normally’. He mentioned: “Emergency services are working at the site. There is no threat to residents’ safety.”

The attack followed reports from Poland that it had intercepted Russian drones violating its airspace.

At the United Nations, the U.S. described the airspace incursions as ‘alarming’ and pledged to defend ‘every inch of NATO territory’, according to Reuters.
