Trump’s ‘disgusting’ remarks on Karoline Leavitt’s lips during speech leave many unsettled

Donald Trump is facing criticism for his recent comments regarding Karoline Leavitt.

Recently, the former president has been scrutinized for making several disparaging remarks about women.

Last month, he made news after referring to Bloomberg journalist Catherine Lucey as ‘piggy’ during a heated interaction. Shortly after, he labeled another female reporter as ‘nasty’ and ‘stupid’.

Now, Karoline Leavitt, the White House’s press secretary, has been the subject of comments about her appearance. Although some might consider them complimentary, many argue they were inappropriate.

During a gathering with supporters in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, December 9, Trump highlighted the presence of his 28-year-old press secretary.

“We even brought our superstar today, Karoline,” he told the audience, adding: “Isn’t Karoline great?”

According to The Sun, Trump went on to say: “You know, when she goes on television, Fox, like I mean, they dominate, they dominate when she gets up there with that beautiful face and those lips that don’t stop-op-op-op, like a little machine gun.”

He linked her on-air confidence to the Trump administration’s ‘right policy’.

Trump’s speech continued: “We don’t have men in women’s sports… we don’t have to sell transgender to everybody, we don’t have to sell open borders where the world is allowed to come into our country from prisons and everywhere else – so she’s got a little bit [of an] easier job.”

The public reaction to Trump’s comments about Leavitt has been overwhelmingly negative.

“Trump is a disgusting fool,” remarked one individual. Another expressed anger: “Trump reducing a woman to her looks and the sound of her lips is grotesque, juvenile, and horrifyingly predictable.”

“Gross. I’d be mortified if my boss spoke about me like that,” commented someone on Twitter.

“He certainly doesn’t hide what he thinks of females. Any age,” another added.

The White House has been contacted for comment.

Leavitt has not directly addressed Trump’s remarks but appears unfazed, having shared several posts about Tuesday’s event on Twitter.

Although Leavitt has not commented on this issue, she has spoken recently about her age-gap relationship. Her husband is 32 years older than she is, and she mentioned having difficulty finding a partner ‘her own age’.

During an appearance on Pod Force One with Miranda Devine, she was asked: “Could you not find boys your own age who were as mature?”

Leavitt responded: “Honestly, no, if you want to know the truth.”
