Donald Trump responded dismissively when asked for his thoughts following the release of newly discovered photos and video footage that shed light on his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
In his latest presidential campaign, Trump suggested he would be open to releasing files related to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, if elected. He stated he would have “no problem” doing so.
Trump partially fulfilled this pledge when Attorney General Pamela Bondi issued the “first phase” of declassified Epstein files in February 2025. However, by July, Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it had “no basis” to release additional files.
In its recent statement, the DOJ also noted it found “no incriminating ‘client list.'”
The decision to withhold further files led some members of the public to speculate that Trump was concealing information about Epstein. The president only intensified this speculation when, questioned by a reporter, he reacted by saying: “Are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That is unbelievable.”
Trump has since announced plans to release grand jury materials related to Epstein but attempted to curtail discussions about his and Epstein’s connection after being asked about images from 1993.
Media reports, including those from CNN’s KFile, have confirmed for the first time that Epstein was present at Trump’s second wedding to Marla Maples in 1993.
Video footage captures Trump and Epstein laughing and conversing at a 1999 Victoria’s Secret fashion show in New York.
Dafydd Jones, the photographer at Trump’s 1993 wedding, explained to CNN that he “must have recognized” Epstein at the wedding, having previously encountered him when photographing him with Trump at the Harley Davidson Cafe in New York in October 1993.
“I wish now I took more of him with Trump,” he said in a recent interview. “I had the job of photographing the Trump wedding, so I stood with the press and photographed him. The image you have is from the contact sheet – the negatives were lost.”
When approached for a comment on the wedding photos, Trump dismissed CNN’s inquiry as “fake news” and retorted with a six-word reply: “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
In a more detailed statement, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung remarked: “These are nothing more than out-of-context frame grabs of innocuous videos and pictures of widely attended events to disgustingly infer something nefarious.
“The fact is that the President kicked him out of his club for being a creep. This is nothing more than a continuation of the fake news stories concocted by the Democrats and the liberal media.”
Trump and Epstein have been linked since the 1980s, regularly attending similar social gatherings. The two reportedly had a falling-out in the mid-2000s over a significant real estate transaction in Palm Beach.
