Turkish artist Aydin Büyüktaş has turned Istanbul, Turkey, upside-down with his Inception-esque digital photo manipulations.
The series, named “Flatland”, takes the beautiful streets of Turkey’s capital city and bends them into a surreal cityscape.
Inspired by Edwin A. Abbott’s novella, “Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions”, Aydin wants people to see the world differently.
And it’s not just about snapping the Grand Bazaar and Istanbul’s stunning mosques, either.
“We live in places that, most of the time, don’t draw our attention,” says Aydin.
“Places that transform our memories, places that the artist gives another dimension.”
“These works aim to leave the viewer alone with a surprising visuality, ironic, as well as multidimensional, romantic point of view.”
Form Sultanahmet Square to the Galata Bridge, Aydin’s Istanbul folds on itself and promises to bend your mind.
The artworks are made with a mixture of drone footage and 3D software.
