A Turkish OnlyFans content creator has opened up about her experiences after being detained due to her videos surfacing on other platforms. In June, Turkey initiated a ban on OnlyFans following a social media outcry that slammed the platform for ‘obscenity’ and for ‘promoting the pursuit of money through immoral means’.
Gizem Bağdaçiçek, a 25-year-old model from Turkey, found herself in the midst of a legal storm when her OnlyFans videos were circulated on various social media sites. Earlier this month, footage broadcasted by local media showed her being escorted by police. Bağdaçiçek has stated that since the ban, she has not uploaded any pornographic material from her OnlyFans account to other social media platforms, using her X (formerly known as Twitter) account @avocadogreenii1 primarily for sharing “posts about her daily life.” According to the local news outlet Sabah, she mentioned, “[Translation] Sometimes, in these posts, there are images of me in underwear and doing sports.”
Bağdaçiçek explained to the police that she started “an account on a social media platform about six months ago,” describing it as a service where “users become paid members using their credentials and follow their account holders by paying only a fee” and emphasizing that “this platform does not accept users under the age of 18.”
She admitted to sharing ‘pornographic images’ with about ‘160 followers’ on OnlyFans. Despite confirming the images shown by police were of her, Bağdaçiçek insisted these were not meant to be shared beyond her OnlyFans circle.
She speculated that someone might have illegally redistributed her content. “This platform on which I share the images does not allow recording the images or even taking screenshots,” she added, suggesting the leaked images came from unknown sources. Bağdaçiçek firmly stated, “I did not post after the social media platform was banned in Turkey. The images published on the X platform without my knowledge and consent are old.”
“My lawyer will file a criminal complaint regarding the dissemination of these images. I am the victim of this incident. I do not accept the accusations,” Bağdaçiçek declared, asserting her stance as a victim in this scenario. Although she was released from custody, it remains unclear if the authorities are continuing their case against her.
