Carlos Mauricio Gómez’s manager confirmed the Twitch star’s death and immediately condemned the online abuse directed at him.
Byron Reyes verified on Monday that Gómez, the 30-year-old streamer known to 1.7 million followers as Komanche, had been found dead the previous day in his rental home in Monterrey, Mexico. Police discovered his body after neighbors noticed the property’s front door had been left open, according to local reports. Investigators found no signs of violence and suspect he died by suicide.
Reyes did not hold back in his statement about what he saw as a contributing factor. “Bullying at any scale is not a game,” he said.

The Mexican influencer had been open about his mental health struggles long before his final days. In an October 2023 video that has taken on new weight, he spoke candidly about his diagnoses and past crises. “I should have sought help and I didn’t,” he admitted in the footage, where he discussed living with depression, schizophrenia, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He also revealed he had survived three previous suicide attempts.
His state of mind appeared to deteriorate rapidly in his final week. On Monday last week, six days before he was found, Komanche posted a stark message to X that has since been viewed nearly 10 million times. “The days just don’t get any better,” he wrote.

The streamer had built his following through comedic skits and gaming content, and he played a key role in creating the “Squid Craft Games,” a Minecraft competition series inspired by the Netflix phenomenon “Squid Game.” The event became a major draw in the Spanish-speaking streaming community, but it also placed him at the center of public disputes.
Twitch handed him a temporary suspension in November 2025 following an on-air argument with another streamer during the Squidcraft Games 4 event. The punishment appeared to deepen his alienation from the platform. In January, he announced he was walking away from Twitch entirely, blaming “people who don’t want [him] on the platform.”
Controversy continued to shadow him in his final weeks. Female streamers had recently accused him of harassment, according to Infobae, though the outlet did not publish further details about those allegations.
Komanche’s death has drawn renewed attention to the intense pressures faced by creators who build their lives in public, where mental health struggles and professional conflicts play out simultaneously before millions. His October 2023 warning about refusing help now circulates alongside his final post as a fragmented chronicle of a man who documented his pain even as he struggled to escape it.
