Uncomfortable scene: Singer Maluma halts concert to criticize mother for bringing baby

During a concert, a musician abruptly stopped his performance to address a mother who had brought her child to the show.

Colombian artist Maluma was performing at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico as part of a three-night concert series when the situation unfolded.

While performing, Maluma noticed a mother and her young child in the audience.

A video capturing the incident has been circulating on social media, with many of Maluma’s fans supporting his response and his comments directed at the mother.

Maluma questioned the presence of the child at the concert, not due to age restrictions, but because the child appeared to lack adequate ear protection from the loud music.

Addressing the mother directly, Maluma can be heard asking: “With all due respect… how old are they?”

“A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f****** high? Where the sound is this loud?”

The singer continued to express concern about the potential harm the loud environment could pose to the child.

He added: “Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility. You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real.

“I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”

As the footage spreads online, people are offering their own perspectives on the matter.

Some believe the performer was too harsh in publicly addressing the mother, while others commend him for prioritizing the child’s safety.

One Twitter user remarked: “Ok this is extremely real and responsible of him to do but crazy because he embarrassed that parent on another level.”

Another commented: “Protecting fans, especially the most vulnerable, should always come before the performance, and he made that crystal clear.”

Another person added: “Good on Maluma for speaking up, protecting a child’s safety should come first.”

Another echoed the sentiment, stating: “Yikes, that’s a tough call but good on Maluma for looking out!”

One simply expressed: “Respect to him.”
