Uncovering the reality behind the viral image suggesting Jeffrey Epstein is alive in another country

A photograph purportedly showing Jeffrey Epstein “alive and walking the streets” has been quickly discredited, with some details being criticized as nonsensical.

In a bizarre twist, an image has circulated widely on the internet suggesting that the deceased convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein is still alive. This claim is almost as startling as the fact that no one named in the latest document release has been held accountable.

Epstein was discovered dead in his cell on August 10, 2019.

Declassified FBI documents include graphic images, which were released alongside an autopsy report.

These images provide close-up views of Epstein’s body and affirm the medical examiner’s conclusion that he died by suicide while awaiting trial.

Nonetheless, conspiracy theories continue to flourish online, with a new image alleging that Epstein has escaped to Israel.

An X account shared the image, claiming in the caption: “Israel faked his death. Epstein is still alive and walking the streets of Tel Aviv.”

The photo depicts three men, with the middle individual alleged to be Epstein.

The man in question sports long gray hair, a beard, and dark glasses, standing closely between two other men – one at his left and another directly in front.

Predictably, the image was rapidly circulated across various social media platforms.

Fortunately, the picture has been officially discredited.

AFP Fact Check conducted a reverse image search using Google, which led to uncropped versions bearing Google Gemini’s distinct watermark.

The reverse search also revealed that the image was marked as “made with Google AI”.

The publication identified what it believes to be the earliest version of the image shared on a Reddit thread.

This finding is corroborated by X’s AI tool, Grok, which indicated: “The image is AI-generated and was originally posted to r/hardaiimages on Reddit February 1, 2026, whose description reads: ‘Post your funny, hard AI images here, feel free to screenshot’.”

AFP Fact Check also highlighted issues with a Hebrew translation on one of the road signs and an error in the traffic light present in the image.

Grok concurred: “The Hebrew on the signs is gibberish.”

In essence, this AI-generated image is a diversion from the critical issues revealed in the latest release of Epstein files, which include interviews with several survivors discussing the impact of over three million newly released documents.

While much of the attention on the file release has been on the prominent figures mentioned, the ongoing effects on the survivors of Epstein’s and his accomplices’ crimes should not be overlooked.
