The spotlight is on Donald Trump’s Gold Card Visa program after Nicki Minaj, known for her hit “Super Bass,” reportedly received one at no cost.
Throughout his presidency, Trump has accumulated approximately $1.4 billion. In September 2025, he enacted an executive order to launch the ‘Gold Card’ Visa program.
Earlier, Trump stated on Truth Social that “more than 15,000 [had] signed up and joined the Waiting List since” the platform’s inception.
The Gold Card hadn’t been widely discussed until Minaj took to Twitter to announce she had received one after attending a conference hand-in-hand with the President.
The card purports to “unlock life in America,” but what exactly is it, and how can someone obtain it if they aren’t Minaj?

The Trump Gold Card is described as “a visa based upon an individual’s ability to provide a substantial benefit to the United States,” according to its official site.
This program offers a streamlined path to U.S. citizenship, promising “US residency in record time.”
But how can one acquire such a card?

To apply, individuals must submit an application and pay a “nonrefundable” processing fee of $15,000.
An “in-depth background check” and vetting process conducted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services follows.
Applicants are also required to attend a visa interview and provide any additional documentation promptly.
Moreover, a “$1 million gift upon completion of the individual’s vetting is evidence that the individual will substantially benefit the United States.”
This excludes any “additional small fees to the US Department of State” that “may apply depending on the applicant.”
Once approved, the card is valid across all 50 states.
Alternatively, like Nicki Minaj, one could become the president’s “number one fan” and potentially receive one “free of charge.”

On January 28, the Trump Accounts Summit took place, where Nicki Minaj showed up to express her support for the President, whom she considers her “number one fan.”
The rapper not only held hands with the President but also defended him and stated she would continue to support him.
Later, she shared a Trump Gold Card on Twitter, saying: “Residency? Residency? The cope is coping. Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition. I wouldn’t have done it without you. Oh CitizenNIKA you are thee moment.”
Previously, in 2024, Minaj mentioned on TikTok that she wasn’t “a citizen of America,” having moved from Trinidad and Tobago as a child, according to iHeart.
Despite earlier being “an illegal immigrant” and opposing some of Trump’s policies, Minaj’s stance seems to have shifted, as she reportedly received the card “free of charge.”
