Reports have emerged of mysterious ‘UFOs’ hovering near a US power plant, prompting comments from the local sheriff.
Strange objects resembling flying saucers have allegedly been seen in the skies above Sweetwater County’s Red Desert, Wyoming, and near the Jim Bridger Power Plant.
Locals claim that for over a year, illuminated UFO-like objects have appeared in organized formations in the area.
The sheriff’s office has now addressed the situation, with Sheriff John Grossnickle reportedly witnessing the objects himself just this past Saturday, as noted by Cowboy State Daily.
Spokesperson Jason Mower informed the publication that the objects are situated too high to be targeted from the ground.
“We’ve worked with everybody,” Mower stated. “We’ve done everything we can to figure out what they are, and nobody wants to give us any answers.”

The sheriff also escorted Wyoming US House Rep Harriet Hageman to witness the phenomenon, which she reportedly observed.
Mower elaborated on the persistence of the issue, noting that the challenge in addressing it has led to a decrease in reports to the sheriff’s office.
He described the phenomenon as both ‘drones’ and ‘unidentified flying objects’, noting they appear far from Earth but move like drones, adding to their mystery.
“It’s like the new normal,” Mower said. “It’s like this phenomenon that continues to happen, but it’s not causing any, you know, issues that we have to deal with — other than the presence of them,” he mentioned, clarifying that the objects haven’t caused harm.
Mower reassured that if the ‘drones’ become threatening or cause damage, the sheriff’s office will ‘act accordingly’.
Niobrara County Sheriff Randy Starkey has also noted similar sightings of what seem to be drones flying over Lance Creek last year, puzzling his community.

Starkey mentioned the flying objects were observed from October to March but have since vanished.
He expressed relief at their disappearance, though his questions remain unresolved.
State Senate Appropriations Chair Tim Salazar, R-Riverton, questioned the Wyoming National Guard leader about ‘UAPs’, which stands for unidentified anomalous phenomena, during a discussion about the Guard’s lack of a drone-combat budget.
Wyoming Adjutant General Greg Porter responded, indicating he could not publicly discuss the matter, as reported by the outlet.
