Universal announced that Halloween Horror Nights will pay tribute to heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne with all-original haunted houses titled “Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness,” debuting August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
In a joint statement, Sharon and Jack Osbourne said, “Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries, and he loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created,” They added, “Halloween Horror Nights has done an incredible job bringing that spirit to life. Walking through these haunted houses, you’ll recognize so many moments inspired by his music and imagination. It’s a wonderful tribute to Ozzy, and we hope fans have as much fun experiencing it as he would have had seeing it come together.”
Spanning 45 years of Osbourne’s career, the haunted house is designed as a living horror movie where guests venture through ancient ruins and foreboding dungeons before boarding the Crazy Train into a realm ruled by the Prince of Darkness himself, drawing from the heavier sound and sinister imagery of Ozzy’s later career.
John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, said: “Ozzy Osbourne didn’t just help define heavy metal—he created a cultural phenomenon that has influenced generations of music, art and horror. We previously had the privilege of collaborating with Ozzy, and this new haunted house is an opportunity to honor his extraordinary solo career. Inspired by all 13 of his albums, guests will journey through the dark, surreal worlds that fueled his music and cemented his legacy as the one and only Prince of Darkness.”
At Universal Studios Hollywood, the haunted house transports fans to where it all began, in Birmingham, England, home to Ozzy Osbourne, starting with “Crazy Train,” as guests will travel through time from his early childhood to the Osbourne Asylum, inspired by his iconic album Diary of a Madman.
As they weave through the decades, the unique iterations of Ozzy’s persona will come to life, from Madman Ozzy and Werewolf Ozzy to the Prince of Darkness, the moniker he earned in the 1970s.
Music from Osbourne’s solo albums including “The Blizzard of Ozz,” “Diary of a Madman,” “Bark at the Moon,” “No More Tears,” “Scream” and “Ordinary Man” will all be featured.
Meanwhile, the experience at Universal Orlando differs slightly.
Guests venture through ancient ruins and foreboding dungeons before boarding the “Crazy Train” into a realm inspired by the covers of fan-favorite albums including “Diary of a Madman,” “Bark at the Moon,” “The Ultimate Sin” and “Black Rain.”

It was important for us to create an authentic experience that brings Ozzy’s creativity and personality to life in an eerily immersive new way. Fans will discover so many meaningful details, including a few Easter eggs, as they navigate memorable dark and twisted moments inspired by his iconic musical career.”
Lora Sauls, Assistant Director of Creative Development and Show Direction at Universal Orlando Resort with 28 years on Halloween Horror Nights, said Sharon Osbourne “has been 100% involved every step of the way” and revealed that “one of the coolest moments in my career is that I speak to Sharon every week. She’s as cool as she seems and has had a lot of emotional input.”
Tears flowed during development.
Charles Gray, the senior show director, is a huge Ozzy fan and “had tears in his eyes—the fans will feel the same. It’s a tribute, people will have an emotional connection.”
New limited-release merchandise inspired by the “Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness” haunted houses, including a T-shirt and an Ozzy acrylic figure, are now available at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, while “Sinners,” “Evil Dead Burn” and “Stranger Things” have also been added to the lineup.
In the viral moment leading to the announcement,
on July 17, social media posts began circulating with an audio advertisement on streaming radio that promoted an Ozzy Osbourne house for Halloween Horror Nights 2026, saying guests would “walk through the Prince of Darkness’s kingdom in a haunted house based on the music of Ozzy Osbourne.”
Fans believed the recording was genuine because it mentioned Hellraiser, which had already been officially announced, suggesting the Ozzy leak got out before Universal wanted it to, marking what would be the second time the rocker teamed up with Universal for Halloween scares.
In 2013, Universal Studios Hollywood presented Black Sabbath: 13 3D, a Halloween Horror Nights maze inspired by the band’s music and its album 13.
Developed as a living horror movie through the lens of Halloween Horror Nights, this non-traditional memorial to Osbourne, who died in 2025, will span 45 years, transporting guests on a twisted journey through the artist’s solo career in unique experiences across both coasts.
Halloween Horror Nights runs through November 1 at both parks.
