New CCTV footage has shed more light on Liam Payne’s final hours, while two women who say they were paid to visit him at his hotel in Argentina have also given their accounts.
The former One Direction singer died after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Although much of what happened before the incident has remained private, surveillance images obtained by the Daily Mail offer a clearer picture of his condition and movements that day.
The footage reportedly shows Payne in the hotel lobby alongside two women he is said to have paid to join him there. Both women have stated that they had consensual sex with him on the night of October 16, 2024.
Additional images are said to show the singer moving around a lamp post in the hotel area.
According to the report, CCTV from the corridor also appears to show hotel staff bringing buckets of chilled alcohol to his room. Receipts reportedly indicate Payne spent more than $600,000 on whisky before the balcony fall.
Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goitea, who say they spent part of the night with the 31-year-old, alleged that he sang some of his own songs to them before later asking for cocaine.
Last week, on August 2, The Mail on Sunday published statements from the women, including one account that said:
“During our time there, we had sex with him – which was consensual sex – only once, and he wore protection.
The same report said the women requested about $5,000 as payment for their time and work.
It was also claimed that Payne became frustrated when an international wire transfer allegedly did not go through, and then asked whether he could pay them through PayPal instead. They said no.
“We did not and could not download it at the time,” the women said.
More stills reportedly show the pair waiting at reception before Payne appeared to meet them and take them up to his room on the third floor.
Court records also reveal WhatsApp exchanges between hotel employees discussing Payne during his stay. Hotel manager Gilda Martin allegedly wrote:
“This person is going to be very intense throughout his stay.
“It’s important that we tell him ‘no’, always kindly and with excuses.”
“Will do whatever we can,” one person reportedly replied.
Following his death, a toxicology report found cocaine, alcohol and the sedative Klonopin in his system.
Five people were initially charged in connection with Payne’s death. In December 2024, a judge confirmed charges against Payne’s friend Roger Nores, hotel manager Gilda Martín, and head of reception Esteban Grassi, all accused of negligent homicide. Two hotel workers, 22-year-old Ezequiel David Pereyra and 26-year-old waiter Braian Nahuel Paiz, were charged with supplying drugs to the singer.
Nores was cleared of all charges in June 2026 after appeal judges ruled that he had no duty of care toward Payne as an adult. The negligent homicide charges against the hotel manager and receptionist were also dropped in early 2025.
Pereyra and Paiz, who spent over a year in custody, were released in March 2026. Both men are reportedly discussing a plea agreement that could reduce charges to supplying drugs without payment, which carries a maximum sentence of six months. Paiz has consistently denied selling drugs to Payne, while Pereyra’s attorney has indicated openness to accepting a plea deal. As of August 2026, no trial date has been set, and their cases remain unresolved.
