Ever been curious about unusual things people have found lodged in their bums this year? Probably not, but there’s a list available for those intrigued by such peculiarities.
It turns out people often find themselves in quite awkward situations that lead to emergency room visits.
Interestingly, the frequency of such incidents might surprise you. A doctor was prompted to issue a warning earlier this month advising against placing Christmas ornaments in inappropriate areas.
According to data, over 500 individuals in the UK were hospitalized in 2025 due to foreign objects in their rectum. Anal surgeon Dr. Evan Goldstein from Bespoke Surgical issued a specific warning about the risks associated with Christmas ornaments.
Dr. Goldstein explained, “Most ornaments and decorations are flimsy, uneven, and built with seams, caps, hooks, or jagged edges. Many can easily crack or shatter under the pressure of the sphincter muscles.
“The rectum can pull objects upward, and without a flared base, you run a real risk of it getting sucked up into your rectum, which can sometimes require surgical removal. Christmas ornaments are uniquely risky because they combine multiple bad features at once: thin glass and brittle plastics, hooks, caps, wires, seams, and no flared base.”
Interestingly, Christmas ornaments were not listed among the items found in people’s rectums in America this year, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission data.
The list, as shared by Defector, includes a variety of objects that have been discovered in people’s rectums. Although some instances lacked explanations, others came with reasons.
One individual, for instance, found a shampoo bottle lodged inside due to boredom. Another person inserted a baseball out of curiosity to ‘see what it felt like’, while someone else resorted to pliers in an attempt to retrieve a seven-inch dildo that had ventured too far.
Definitely not ideal.
The data also reveals bizarre items found stuck in penises, some of which are equally astonishing.
