US Singer’s Rep Issues Statement Following Discovery of Decomposed Body in Tesla Trunk

A spokesperson for the artist D4vd has provided a statement after a body in a severely decomposed state was discovered inside a Tesla linked to him.

Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) were summoned to a Hollywood impound lot to investigate reports of a strong odor emanating from a parked black Tesla on Monday, September 8.

The vehicle, which had reportedly been at the lot for several days, was found to contain a body inside the front trunk, wrapped in a plastic bag.

The identity and cause of death of the deceased individual remain unknown. It has been noted that the 2023 Tesla is registered to David Anthony Burke in Hempstead, Texas. Burke is widely recognized as the singer D4vd, known for tracks like ‘Romantic Homicide’ and ‘Here With Me’.

These songs have collectively garnered over a billion streams on Spotify, where D4vd enjoys over 33 million monthly listeners.

While the investigation is ongoing, the official owner of the Tesla has not been confirmed by the police.

In a statement to the LADbible Group, the LAPD commented: “On 9/8/25 around 12:20 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue for a foul odor coming from a vehicle at a tow yard.

“Detectives responded and located possible human remains. It is currently a death investigation. We do not have information on the owner of the vehicle.”

Currently on tour, D4vd’s representative conveyed to NBC News that he is “aware of the situation,” and despite being on tour, he is fully cooperating with law enforcement.

Despite the ongoing investigation, the artist has been active on social media, sharing updates related to his Withered World Tour. Recently, he posted about his impending release, Withered Deluxe: Marcescence, scheduled for September 19.

In a social media update featuring his album artwork, D4vd expressed to his 2,000,000 followers: “Every song written exclusively by me on my phone baby, this is a passion project i put together to make sure i didn’t lose the raw emotional weight my music carries and how much it means to u all.

“Thank you to all the friends who collaborated with me on this everyone ATE THEIR VERSES UP.”

D4vd initially rose to fame through TikTok, releasing his debut album in April. The 20-year-old artist has a scheduled performance in Los Angeles on September 20 as part of his tour.

His next concert is set to take place in Kansas City, Missouri, tonight.
