According to Brad Pitt’s supporters, bitter Angelina Jolie is running a ‘disinformation’ campaign against the actor by bringing up her accusations of marital abuse during their current business fight.
Sources close to the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star, 58, said he is heartbroken – but not surprised – that Jolie has publicly accused him of traumatizing their children on a 2016 private aircraft flight.
Jolie, 47, asked authorities to look into the mid-flight altercation that resulted in the Hollywood couple’s divorce, but the FBI chose not to seek criminal charges.
That hasn’t stopped her from using the ‘ever-evolving’ charges against Pitt at every chance, according to her friends, who have chastised her for repeating them again this week – this time in a disagreement over a French vineyard, Miraval.
They also accuse Jolie of hypocrisy for publicly criticizing Pitt’s request for a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) while secretly suggesting the same thing to Pitt’s attorneys during separate divorce discussions.
The former pair, dubbed Brangelina, are embroiled in a lengthy court dispute over the famed Chateau Miraval firm they co-owned before Jolie’secretly’ sold her share to a ‘Russian billionaire’ in 2021.
Responding to Pitt’s assertions that she had no legal right to sell, Jolie’s latest filing includes a detailed account of the event on a trip from France to California that resulted in the dissolution of their five-year marriage and joint business operations.
According to Jolie’s complaint, Pitt got into a frenzy, grabbed her by the head, shaking her, throwing her into a bathroom wall, and striking the ceiling many times.
When one of their six children, aged eight to 15, defended their mother, the two-time Oscar winner is said to have ‘lunged at his own child,’ causing Jolie to grab him from behind.
‘In order to get Jolie off his back, Pitt flung himself backwards into the airplane seats, hurting Jolie’s back and elbow,’ according to the countersuit.
‘The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face,’ she claimed.
Sources close to Brad, on the other hand, are fighting back.
‘Brad has owned everything he’s accountable for from day one, unlike the other side,’ Brad’s lawyer Anne Kiley said, ‘but he’s not going to own something he didn’t do.’
‘He has been the target of every kind of personal abuse and misinformation. Fortunately, the many public authorities that the other party has sought to use against him over the last six years have made their own independent determinations.
‘Brad will continue to respond in court as he has consistently done.’
Following the incident, the FBI and, according to reports, the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services both declined to take further action against him.
According to sources close to the actor, a judge listened to Jolie’s allegations during their months-long, behind-closed-doors child custody struggle, which included physicians, therapists, and child services workers.
By giving Pitt joint custody in May 2021, Judge John Ouderkirk rejected the argument that Pitt was an unsuitable father, while Jolie eventually succeeded in getting the judge disqualified due to his financial links with Pitt’s counsel.
‘The FBI found there was no basis for charges, and the court basically agreed with Brad since he would not give joint custody if he believed a father was a risk to his children,’ one insider revealed.
‘It’s unclear what an argument on a private jet in 2016 has to do with a property issue concerning a 19th century French château.
‘This is basically Jolie rehashing everything and tearing Brad down at every opportunity.’ ‘Every time she tells her narrative, it evolves.’
The claims of abuse reappeared in April of this year when a mysterious ‘Jane Doe’ sued the FBI seeking data related to a ‘domestic violence event that happened some years ago including plaintiff and little children as victims and witnesses.’
According to NBC News, the incident occurred on a private plane and bore many similarities to the Pitt-Jolie feud, leading to widespread speculation that Jolie was the Doe.
The petition, filed under the Freedom of Information Act, seeks to ‘better comprehend the FBI’s investigation and collect information required for her children to undergo medical care and trauma counseling.’
