Vera Wang, 76, shared her strange secrets to stay looking so young

Vera Wang has previously opened up about how she maintains her famously youthful look — and her routine includes some unexpected fast-food favorites.

Now 76, the celebrated designer is best known for her refined bridalwear, her early ambition to compete as an Olympic figure skater, and a physique that regularly draws attention from fans.

In a past interview, Wang suggested her day-to-day choices aren’t as strict as many people might assume — and that comfort food plays a role.

“I do eat McDonald’s, absolutely,” she told Page Six at the 2023 DKMS Gala in New York City.

“I order it every day, like two weeks on it, and then I’ll change.”

Her go-to treats don’t stop there, either, as she also shared her love of Dunkin’ doughnuts.

“I like the cream-filled, sugar-coated donut. It’s like a jelly donut, but it’s cream inside, vanilla cream,” she confessed.

“I like the pink with sprinkles, too.”

More recently, Wang and Dunkin partnered around National Proposal Day to “surprise a fan with a once-in-a-lifetime bridal experience”.

Between March 20 and April 3, people who used the brand’s distinctive “I Dough” ring box as part of a proposal could enter for a chance to win an exclusive bridal experience at Wang’s flagship location in either New York City or Beverly Hills.

Beyond takeout and sweets, Wang has also credited her demanding career with helping her stay energized.

“I work very long hours; I’ve raised two daughters. I think keeping busy is the best antidote [for] good health,” she claimed.

Wang echoed similar sentiments to PEOPLE previously. She shared at the time: “Nobody believes me when I say it, but working keeps you young. It keeps your mind young, and your spirit up and your relevance up, which I think affects your body.”

Wang further divulged: “And, one of the things I am known to like to do is have a vodka cocktail. There’s no question about that, I do. I have a vodka at some point after five or six o’clock, maybe towards seven.

“And I have to say, sleep, staying out of the sun without sunblock, and good lighting is everything too!”

Wang’s path to becoming a household name included roles at Vogue and Ralph Lauren during the 1970s and 80s, before she launched her own label — a brand that is now owned by WHP Global.

Her designs have been worn by a long list of well-known names, including Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kim Kardashian, and her sister, Khloé.

She has also dressed elite athletes, with figure skaters such as Nancy Kerrigan and Nathan Chen appearing in costumes created by Wang.

In recognition of her impact on the sport through costume design, Wang was inducted into the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2009.
