Earlier this week, Brooklyn Beckham caused quite a stir online by releasing a detailed statement concerning his family and the so-called ‘brand Beckham’.
Since these statements were posted on his Instagram Stories on January 19, many have been attempting to unravel Brooklyn’s assertions, which include claims that David and Victoria tried to interfere in his relationship and that Victoria took over his first dance as a married man to ‘dance inappropriately on him in front of everyone’.
In a previously surfaced interview on The Today Show from 2022, Victoria discussed the wedding.
She said, “It was a beautiful wedding. As a mother, to see my son so happy means so much. What more can you ask for?
“… We’re a very close family. It’s all about communication and being present as a parent. I love to work, I love what I do in fashion and beauty but being a parent, being a good mom is my number one job.
“They are amazing, they work hard, they are good, sweet, kind human beings and I think that’s what you want to do as a parent.”
When asked how the children managed to remain ‘grounded’, Victoria replied, “I think it’s just being close, and having good family around us, my parents and David’s parents and just talking to them about everything. We always say this is an environment where we can talk, communicate.
“We’re very, very present, the kids are happy, hard-working, respectful kids and that’s what you want.”
A body language expert has recently analyzed the interview, suggesting that Victoria appeared ‘a little protective’ of herself during the conversation.
Commenting on behalf of Covers, body language expert Inbaal Honigman observed, “Her appearance on The Today Show in 2022 shows Victoria feeling a little protective of herself.
“She’s not too happy talking about her personal life, as her arms and legs wrap up her torso protectively. Her legs are crossed, and in fact they’re turned away from Hoda and Jenna. Her arms are crossed too, meeting at the wrists, and as her knees and wrists all rest together, she looks as if she’s tied up in a bow like a present, hiding her personal life behind her limbs and only letting the interviewers know what she wants them to know.
“When Victoria speaks about Brooklyn’s wedding, she nods, again and again. This is a sign of agreement, she’s confirming that she agrees with what she says. While she speaks about the wedding, her hands are held in a prayer position, indicating thankfulness. Her nodding head is lowered, as if in gratitude. In this moment, Victoria is grateful for her good fortune in seeing her son wed.”
In other claims, Brooklyn stated that his father, David, had refused to see him before his 50th birthday.
David marked his 50th birthday last year with a grand celebration, from which Nicola and Brooklyn were noticeably absent.
While many assumed the couple remained in the U.S., Brooklyn contends they traveled to London to see David, but were turned away.
“My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable,” Brooklyn stated.
“Despite this, we still travelled to London for my dad’s birthday and were rejected for a week as we waited in our hotel room trying to plan quality time with him. He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner.”
Brooklyn also claimed that when his father finally agreed to meet, it was on the condition that Nicola ‘wasn’t invited’.
