Presley Gerber filmed himself inside his Santa Monica rehab facility the night before he died of an apparent overdose at 27.
The late son of supermodel Cindy Crawford, 59, and businessman Rande Gerber, 63, recorded the clip at Resolutions Living on Saturday evening, two sources confirmed. In the footage, the model wears a white tank top, silver chain necklace and black eyeglasses, his distinct neck tattoos visible as he pans across the living quarters.
The shared room features multiple beds and a balcony overlooking manicured grounds and the city skyline. The luxurious $7.7 million facility also offers residents a movie theater, gym, mountain views and chef-curated meals through what its website describes as a “three-phase recovery program” incorporating “goal-setting activities, volunteer work and character-building exercises.”
Insiders said that Presley had checked into the facility that same weekend. He was pronounced dead there on Sept. 20.
Dispatch audio obtained by the outlet captured authorities responding to a “cardiac arrest” and “overdose” call. Another source said Presley “seemed off” and “didn’t seem like himself” in the days leading up to his death.
Presley had struggled with opioid addiction for years and also battled depression. He was arrested for DUI in 2018, pleaded no contest and received three years probation. Through these challenges, his mother maintained what sources described as unwavering support.
“Cindy was extremely involved in everything when it came to Kaia and Presley growing up,” a source previously said. “She never missed a school function and was on top of everything when it came to her kids.”
The source added, “I’m sure that Cindy would make sure her kid was going to the best rehab though. That’s the kind of mom she was. She was so involved in everything for them.”
Presley’s sister, model Kaia Gerber, 23, is reportedly struggling to cope with the loss. “Kaia and Presley were insanely close. I don’t know how she’s going to go on without him,” a source said. “They were way more than brother and sister. She is heartbroken. They were like best friends.”
Another insider described Cindy as “devastated” and “inconsolable” after losing her only son. “They were so close,” the source said. “What you saw online and in the press wasn’t just for that purpose. They were a tight-knit family and Kaia and Presley were more than just siblings. Cindy has to be beyond gutted.”
Following his death, a family representative issued a statement requesting “privacy during this very difficult and painful time.” Presley was reportedly cremated at Rose Family Funeral Home, with his ashes planned to remain at his parents’ Malibu residence.
Rande and Cindy are said to be “struggling emotionally” as they consider a memorial. “Their priority is to keep it private, without media or paparazzi there,” a source said.
An official cause of death has not yet been released.
