A Netflix thriller comprising three seasons has been described by subscribers as a ‘must-watch’, yet it might have escaped your notice.
When considering Netflix Originals, science fiction and fantasy enthusiasts likely think of Stranger Things and The Witcher first.
Those who favor romance might lean towards Virgin River or Bridgerton, while fans of animation may rave about Blood of Zeus or Blue Eye Samurai.
An additional Original series that might have slipped by is a German-language mystery drama directed by Baran bo Odar.
The show premiered on the streaming service in December 2017 and centers on a group of troubled individuals from the fictional town of Winden, Germany.
Spanning three seasons, this sci-fi series delves into how time affects human nature and life, with the final season set in a parallel universe.

We are, of course, referring to Dark – Netflix’s first German-language Original Series.
The synopsis for the first season states: “When two children vanish in a small German town, its sinful past comes to light along with the secret lives and fractured relationships among four families as they search for the children.
“The mystery-drama series presents a complex puzzle filled with unexpected turns, involving a network of intriguing characters, all linked to the town’s troubled history – whether they are aware of it or not. The narrative includes supernatural themes that trace back to the same town in 1986.”
Even after more than six years since its release, Netflix audiences continue to praise it.
On social media a few months ago, someone remarked: “Dark is, simply put, a must-watch!
“The third season offers a fulfilling conclusion that may rank among the best in its genre.”
As recently as November 23, someone queried fellow Netflix users about whether Dark deserved a viewing.
In encouraging them to watch, a user wrote on Facebook: “I loved this show! You need to pay attention. If you’re distracted or step away, you might miss something critical and lose track of the story.
“It’s a mind-bender! I was completely engrossed!”
Another commented: “Honest review is the show is 100 out of 100.”
These views are supported by reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. At the time of writing, Dark holds an impressive 95 percent on the Tomatometer and a 94 percent audience score.
All three seasons of Dark are currently available for streaming on Netflix, making it an ideal series to binge during the holiday season.
