Viewers Tearful After True Crime Documentary on the Murder of a “Harry Potter” Actor

Grab your tissues, Harry Potter fans! A new documentary about the tragic death of Rob Knox, who played Marcus Belby in the series, has left viewers absolutely heartbroken.

Rob Knox tragically lost his life at just 18 years old when he was stabbed in 2008.

The young actor had just finished filming for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and was set to appear in the final installment, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” despite his character not being in the seventh book.

The role in the “Harry Potter” series was a significant breakthrough for Rob, who had appeared in “The Bill,” “After You’re Gone,” and “Trust Me, I’m a Teenager” on Channel 4.

The devastating incident occurred during a night out in Sidcup, London, as Rob attempted to protect his younger brother Jamie from a brawl.

Last year, an ITV documentary titled “(K)nox: The Rob Knox Story” was released, exploring the life and the shocking death of Rob.

The documentary features emotional interviews with some of his “Harry Potter” co-stars, including Tom Felton and Jim Broadbent.

The tear-jerking film has led fans to express their grief on social media, with many sharing that they were moved to tears by the story.

Heartfelt messages flooded in from viewers, with one fan expressing, “Cried all the way through. So so so sad. RIP Rob.”

Another shared their repeated emotional reaction: “Doesn’t matter how many times I watch it… I am bawling my eyes out every time,” while a third confessed to not knowing about Rob’s death, stating, “That’s so sad… I didn’t know he was dead.”

Others described the profound loss: “What a loss very sad,” remarked another viewer.

Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, Rob’s co-stars, also paid heartfelt tributes. Daniel wrote, “Dear Rob, We are all proud to have known you and devastated to have lost you. It is terrible just to write this note. Rest in peace, Dan xxx.” He also included a touching D.H. Lawrence quote: “To anyone who reads this remember ‘The dead don’t die. They look on and help’.”

Rupert remembered Rob by saying, “Rob, It was an honor to have known you and whenever I’m on the Southend strip I’ll be thinking of you. Rest in peace mate.”

Rob’s assailant was convicted on multiple counts and received a sentence that included a minimum of 20 years in prison and three concurrent life sentences for wounding Rob’s friends.

For those who want to remember Rob Knox and learn more about his life and legacy, the documentary is now streaming on ITV.
