Viktor Krum Actor Reveals His Look 20 Years After Harry Potter and Discusses Toughest Scene to Film

Two decades have passed since the release of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, prompting curiosity about Viktor Krum’s journey over these years…

The fourth chapter in the Harry Potter series, Goblet of Fire, saw Harry Potter, portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, compete in a magical tournament alongside students from various other magical institutions.

One of these competitors was Viktor Krum from Bulgaria, who attended the Durmstrang Institute. Like Harry, Krum was chosen by the Goblet of Fire to compete in the tournament.

Apart from the competition, Krum is remembered for escorting Hermione Granger to the Yule Ball, much to Ron Weasley’s dismay.

The tournament required participants to be at least 17, but Harry was entered due to the machinations of Barty Crouch Jr., played by David Tennant, a follower of Voldemort who manipulated the selection process.

The Harry Potter series has become one of the most iconic film franchises of the 21st century, with fans remaining devoted to both the films and the books.

Many enthusiasts are eager to follow the careers of the actors from the films, including Stan Yanevski, who portrayed Krum.

Yanevski’s casting was serendipitous. A casting director noticed him in a school corridor during auditions and invited him to try out, even though he had no formal drama training.

Since his role in Goblet of Fire, Yanevski has appeared in the horror film Hostel: Part II and led the cast in the sci-fi thriller The Cloaking.

On Instagram, Yanevski has amassed nearly 300,000 followers, sharing content related to Harry Potter, fitness, and humorous videos.

He recently attended Dream It Con with fellow Harry Potter actors Bonnie Wright, David Bradley, and Alfred Enoch.

It’s apparent that Harry Potter still holds a significant place in Yanevski’s life. He recently talked about filming Goblet of Fire and the most challenging scene he encountered.

The underwater scenes during the tournament were particularly tough to shoot.

“That was filmed mostly underwater,” he shared during an Instagram Live session with Cameo Harry Potter.

Yanevski humorously added, “I do turn into a shark, which is a natural thing for me when I enter water, but yeah… that was difficult.”

“We had to take special training,” he continued, noting that they earned diver’s certificates for the filming.

He emphasized the difficulty of the scene, particularly the challenge of appearing natural while acting underwater.
